I am delighted with these! The craftsmanship is impressive with a very nice quality of leather. And the two poufs are a good match to each other. There was a bit of odor when they came out of the shipping bag, but it was gone in a few days. We stuffed them with coconut fiber, because that’s very available and cheap where I live, and the poufs are sturdy enough to sit on, while comfy for propping up our feet.We asked for a recommendation for leather care and got two responses within a day.Really happy with the purchase!

We love these! They are beautiful and VERY good quality. The fact that they arrive with SUCH a strong odor is the only reason I didn’t give 5 stars. Be aware of 2 important things before buying: 1) The smell was so strong that I kept them on our patio because it took over the whole house. And, although some reviews say the smell wears off in a couple days – it took well over a week on our patio to fade. 2) They are not filled, which I expected, but it could be overlooked. We filled them with organic cotton filling – 10lbs each poof.I’m happy we waited out the smell to fade, because we LOVE these!
Alex –
Beautiful, quality poufs. They are not as dark as the pictures on my screen but are still a lovely, deep tan color. No smell at all. Shipping was incredibly fast; they arrived in only 3 days (well ahead of the scheduled delivery date).
Christine Cioffi Bonfiglio –
I’m glad another customer said the smell faded in a week because the smell is strong. However, the info states no chemicals and natural tanning process so I don’t mind waiting and also the quality is ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!! The color is faded, which I love, the leather is so soft, and the embroidery is very strong looking, as well as a gorgeous design. I am very pleased, except for waiting for the smell to fade….I am sure it will be worth it. I ordered only 5 bags of 20 oz fiber filling, but that barely filled one of them. I am ordering more fill … wish I had seen the ideas of stuffing with extra items around the home. Good idea!

Lets start with the stink that does seems to be slightly dissipating after a few days outside…I would describe it as a cross between a very smelly goat ( yes I owned a goat at onetime and it is a very unpleasant distinct smell) and cigarettes! There is no way you could have these inside your house when they arrive.I hope the odor will go away because everything else seems great. Heavy, well made, cute, seems to be a good height for a foot stool or an extra seat.If the odor goes away they would have 5 stars! (crossing my fingers)

These are a great find! I was shocked at the prices for filled poufs, but these are great quality at half the cost of poorly made stuffed ones. Mine don’t smell too much (full disclosure: they joined a new jute rug and a vintage tribal rug, so there is already a funk in the room, but it wasn’t greatly increased by the poufs’ arrival). They do take a ton of stuffing, but we saved all our Christmas wrapping paper and shredding and added a few old towels and we’re almost there.
Debbie Hempel –
These are absolutely beautiful! Well made with sturdy materials hand-stitching. Yes, they do not come stuffed, and yes, they have quite a smell that needs time to fade. But they are well worth it! They also arrived weeks before I expected – a nice surprise 🙂
Margarita G.Margarita G. –
SO happy with these! They look amazing and quality is top notch and didn’t notice a smell. Shipping was fast, they got here way quicker than I expected based off other reviews (8 days) and stuffing them was super easy, just used linens.
Erin schwartzErin schwartz –
When i buy online I always read the reviews before I buy so I hope this helps others who do the same. These are well made and look exactly like the pictures. They are gorgeous! Plus, I got them way before the expected date of arrival! When I read other reviews on these everyone else said the smell was awful but I thought “well it’s leather, and leather smells” but they really do smell. The smell isn’t like leather…it’s like cow poop smell (not joking). So be prepared for that. I did let my air out in my garage for about 48 hours and it has diminished some but still smells. So I am hoping maybe a few more days will do the trick. They should really tell people that they will smell and how to go about airing them out but besides that if you are hesitating about buying these, don’t! You won’t be disappointed!

This is a high quality piece at a great price. There was a mix up with my order and the shop took care of it right away with good communication. I definitely recommend this product.
AndroidStudAndroidStud –
I just received these poufs today. A day earlier than expected and I could not be happier. They are just like they look pictures. The leather feels soft and the color and stitching are beautiful. I was prepared for that “smell” that other reviewers mentioned, but was pleasantly surprised that they just smelled like leather. Its like the scent when you walk into a store that sells a lot of genuine leather products. I actually like it. Regarding the filling, I just could not wait and I filled them with old sofa pillows, an old comforter and other things I had laying in the garage for donation. They can still take some more filling. I absolutely love them!
L. Daniel –
Beautiful. Exactly as described. Arrived very quickly. I filled each pouf with a queen size down comforter. There was absolutely NO odor. The way some folks were carrying on about the smell I was really expecting to have to air them out but no smell at all. Very pleased!
Zeinab Hassouna –
Beautiful ! But there are 2 issues. The ” lamby ” odor is very strong . Hoping it will get better with time . I am used to buying the Egyptian ones without this odor .Also this is a set of two but the sizes are a little different .I am sure because I measured the stitching.
Kristie –
I ordered these because I loved them and they were budget friendly for the look I was going for in my living room! I ordered them and waited, I knew it’d take awhile to receive them, but it appeared that they got “stuck” somewhere along the way and I emailed the seller the day before they arrived and let them know it’d been almost a month since they “arrived” at their current location and seriously doubted that they would make it by the estimated delivery date. The seller got back to me very quickly and asked if I was ok with waiting until the date that was estimated, and explained they were using a new shipping service and I said that was fine, but had my doubts. Sure enough, I had my set of beautiful poufs two days later! They are good quality and only needed a little while to air out after I took them out of the package, there was a smell, but it was not horrible and it went away quickly.
Patricia B. –
The quality of these is great for the price. I saw the item in one of the high end magazines for three times the price. Instead of fill, I ordered a $10 DYNAPRO Exercise Ball – 2,000 lbs Stability Ball – Professional Grade, the smallest available (45 cm?). Inserted into the pouf, with the inflate opening near the end of where you would close the zipper. Zipper almost closed, inflate the ball as much as possible, plug ball, close zipper final 1/2 inch and you are good to go. Really comfortable and easy to deflate and store if needed in a small home. I’m very tempted to order more.
JORDAN –
The ottomans are beautiful! As others have mentioned, there is a smell to them. It is not as strong as some reviewers have made it seem. There was a small issue with the order/shipping. The seller corrected everything immediately.
byu22byu22 –
Great poufs! They look amazing, they were easy to stuff and the smell really isn’t that bad. I rubbed mine down with leather cleaner/conditioner to get a nice shine. The seller is also amazing, super responsive and will resolve anything that arises.
AMWAMW –
These are a good for the price but took a month to arrive and one of the poufs arrived with two stains on them, right out of the box.
Margo Bakhtiari –
First off I was surprised that the poufs didn’t come poofyBut I filled both of them up primarily with clean towels and one I put in an old twin comforterThey both look really nice and they are a nice addition to the family roomOne thing that I was surprised by was that the delivery took the whole time to get here, I have to admit I was getting a little nervous but on the last scheduled day they did show up
susan ramirez –
Great prices. Did not come stuffed.
Kyle and Julie K. –
These are exactly what we wanted and look so good! It will take a lot of fluff to stuff- we used baby clothes. Just know you will need A LOT to stuff them, but they really are perfect.
Robert D BahusRobert D Bahus –
Beautiful, sturdy stitching & 100% satisfied. Arrived over 1 week early! After pouring over reviews – I was most worried about the horrid smell everyone was talking about not going away. We put them in the laundry room to air out for 2 days (did not stink up the rest of the house) and they were good to go – just a faint smell remains if you put your nose ON them. With time, I am positive it will disappear all together. I stuffed mine with old couch pillows and am so happy with the look and ease of comfort they provide! I can’t believe how hesitant I was to purchase these beauties!!
DebIba –
No odor in spite of all other comments. Dyna ball is not recommended as insert unless you want to bounce it. Use a heavier filling found at JoAnn’s.Very nice ottomans!
Amazon Customer –
The color can be easily darkened by a shoe conditioner or oil which makes the leather (which is quite dry) a lot softer. They come as shells that are not stuffed. All that being said they are beautiful and I am very happy with them.
Grateful Amazon CustomerGrateful Amazon Customer –
The quality is terrific, and getting the poufs shipped without “stuffing” gives a buyer options. …didn’t want to fuss with little pellets or blowing up an insert, so we bought 3 body-sized fiberfill pillows at a local big box store and stuffed each pouf with 1-1/2. This turned out to be easy and the perfect amount of “pouf” for use as footstools, back rests if floor sitting, or sitting on them. …a gentle leather smell but that’s what a person wants when one buys real leather.
DoutzinDoutzin –
I love them, they do have a awkard smell but they are really cute. I used our winter clothes to fill them up. They are very big as well.
John Mahaffy, Amazon Customer –
I love the poof! But I only received one of the set of two, and have written numerous times without getting a response, which is very frustrating. How can I get the other poof?????
Jean van Zyl –
These are great! Stuff them as firmly or squishy as you prefer. Mine are loosely stuffed. Fantastic quality and attention to detail. Stitching is gorgeous.
Mayte Bayolo –
The smell is real. But, I sprayed them with Lysol and left them 2 weeks by the window with dryer sheets inside of them. After a week, I used someOlive oil to darken and soften the leather. So far so good. I LOVE THEM. Beautiful. Good quality. Smell is manageable. Just have a plan.
Josh –
These are very high quality but I recommend buying the proper stuffing. The leather is of high quality and the zipper is sturdy.
GenXer –
These look great in my house. It took a lot of towels outgrown clothes to stuff them but very nice. They did stink for about a month so I let them air out in the garage and then stuffed them.
Josh Beser –
I bought these poofs after reading the other review and realizing smell might be an issue. I was pleasantly surprised at first because the smell was not too bad. However, about a month later and one of the two started smelling. It ended up smelling so bad that I put it outside, where it immediately began attracting many, many flies. We threw it out and the smell even lingered in the porch. The other one still smells fine and I hope it will because I like the way it looks!
EMCEMC –
Update: 5/19/2020 I let the two poufs air outside in the sun for about 6 weeks. (both of them got darker In color from doing this) When the weather started to cool off and get rainy I hung them on hangers in the garage. By this point the smell wasn’t as strong as when they arrived but still strong enough to smell up the garage. A little over 2 months after I received them one of them seemed to not smell as bad so I brought it inside and waited a couple days to make sure it wouldn’t make my house smell and then stuffed it. It looks great and the smell could only be smelled if you put your face by it. The 2nd one stayed in the garage much longer but in January I decided I’d take chance and bring it in. That one still has a stronger smell and if I’m sitting close to it I still can smell it but it isn’t as overwhelming/overtaking as when they arrived. After the amount of time and work it took to get them to useable status I question that the cost is actually worth it vs one in store that you could smell check first. If you don’t mind waiting month for them to air out or don’t mind a very strong gamy smell they do end up looking pretty good and wear pretty well (My kids love to jump on and off of them.)Original review: At first view the poufs look great, but if you have a nose you will instantly smell a very strong smell of what I can only describe as dead animal. Other reviews mentioned a smell so I expected some but I was literally dry heaving when I got a good whiff of these after opening. I immediately took them outside to air (We live in a sunny dry place) but they couldn’t even be near my open windows bcs the smell still permeated into my home, my kids kept asking what the horrible smell was. I have tried every trick that I have read to try to let these poufs air out. We are now one week from receiving them and although the smell has dissipated it is still strong, and that is with them being outside (no they didn’t get wet I always moved them to safe areas of sun during the day and covered them at night) but I can imagine if I put them inside a more confined space they will still stink things up. I expected some natural variation in color but there are what appears to be oil spots on the sides and bottom of the poufs. In addition to that when I turned them inside out, in attempt to air out the inside I noticed that the construction of both poufs are very different. One uses a thick backing on every other side panel and the other has nothing. They seem similar but not matching which is slightly frustrating as I bought the pair to match, hopefully they will wear the same.I’m still hoping the smell reduces enough for me to stuff them and bring them inside for my intended use of them. The extremely strong smell isn’t fun but I guess I should have assumed that goat leather would be putrid, and as mentioned I’m still hoping with more airing it will dissipate enough I can use them. But the oil spots are a bit frustrating as they appear to already be soiled when I haven’t used them and honestly have hardly touched them as when you do your hands smell horrible.I will try to update if I feel things get worse or better. I watched these poufs for months before buying and they seemed like a good deal but if I can never bring them inside then they seem more like a rip off as it will be money completely wasted.

… But I wanted future buyers to get a sense of my sentiment.I am thrilled!I was not expecting my poufs to arrive as fast as they did! I was also surprised that they arrived so tightly packed, (see pictures). They were indeed lightweight and did not have any overpowering smells of goat or tanning dyes.I used HALF of a queen size foam mattress pad, ($17 from Wal-mart), and two blankets to stuff one and the other half of the foam padding, an unused sleeping bag, two large towels that were ruined and dear mother’s leather jacket, (I will not wear it – but it is being put to good use rather than just hanging in the closet). The poufs add just the right accent statement to my “style” and the general “feel” for when entering my apartment, as I extend a hospitable welcome to all.Amazing!
AlexAlex –
Love these! Arrived in two days. I was prepared to have them spend some time in the garage to air out based on all the reviews, but they didn’t smell at all. Just a very slight nice leather smell. These are gorgeous and such a good buy price wise!
Mandy Pants –
I love these poufs! They are beautiful and very sturdy. They did smell a little so as suggested, I let them air out in my garage. They still smelled a little after a few days but I brought them and stuffed them with 4 bins of my sons old baby clothes anyways. They are incredible! I am extremely happy with the poufs and happy to report there is no odor at all from them other than a slight leather smell (and I have a sensitive nose!) my only complaint might be that the poufs are different shades of brown but I love them regardless.
Boston shopper –
Wow! Crazy good quality! If these were in a store I’d expect them to be several hundred dollars each. Great value. Product is even prettier in person. I did not experience any of the smell mentioned in other reviews.Arrived in 2 days using prime. Both matched each other perfectly, no blemishes, no oil spots – these are amazing!
AmcaraAmcara –
Olor muy fuerte. Los dejé afuera par de días con bicarbonato y luego con spray con vinagre y aceite esencial los rocíe ambos lados y listo. Son hermosos.

I ordered these poufs after many months of deliberation and I’m so glad I did. They took a long time to arrive for me, but I wasn’t in a hurry to have them so it wasn’t a big deal. I was very pleased with the quality of the poufs; they don’t come stuffed, but I ordered beads and foam filler which worked fine for me. If you want a stiffer pouf, I would highly recommend stuffing with old clothes from your donation pile. They don’t feel lumpy at all, but they will be more firm and stable (also heavier). The way I did mine worked great but they’re very light and they have a lot of air in them still, so when you sit on them, they squish down quite a bit. I don’t have a problem with that because they’re truly just footstools in a room where I don’t have a coffee table. These were on the more expensive side, but I would happily pay the same for these again because the quality is so good. I love the way they look, too!
SharingTheLoveSharingTheLove –
These poufs are beautiful and do have a smell…as if it’s the leather made from the cows behind. I can’t smell it unless I’m super close to them, hopefully with time the smell will fade like others have mentioned.
No –
I love my Moroccan poufs! They’re beautiful and very well made! I’ve had them for several weeks but am finally stuffing them tonight and can’t wait to see them full!
Petronela Zaharia –
These poufs are gorgeous. Beautifully crafted, with a nice warm color, just like in the photos. I was really nervous before receiving them, as many people complained about the smell. But mine do not smell at all, they have a very slight leather scent, but I’ve been keeping them in my living room for.more than one week, and you can’t feel it at all.
Diane –
I saw these at West Elm for 300 dollars. Granted they were already stuffed and these need stuffed when they arrive. I had no trouble finding things to stuff in the and they are quite sturdy. I didn’t have any negative odor with them as some experienced, just smelled like new leather.
Kelly JohnsonKelly Johnson –
These are awesome! I love the leather and the stitching! There is a subtle variation in the light brown color of the leather that is really cool looking. These don’t look exactly like the photo on Amazon, but I expect they vary a bit naturally. Ais far as the smell a lot of folks have mentioned, I didn’t get any of that, thankfully. After reading a bunch of reviews, I was prepared to leave mine outside to air for a while, but no need. They do have a mild, new leather scent just as any leather. I stuffed mine with a layer of shredded memory foam, then filled them with old pillows, chair cushions, t-shirts, linens, and towels. All said and done, total cost was about $75 each. Well worth it! I definitely recommend these.
hannah mayer –
These poufs are really pretty, but THE SMELL IS REAL, people. They smell like a dead animal that has been laying in its own feces. I have aired them outside for several days, slathered them with leather conditioner and put them in a bag with laundry freshener and they still smell bad. Hoping it goes away with time so we can bring them in the house.
Lauri H.Lauri H. –
Good quality leather, looks like they will hold up well. I saw a lot of reviews complaining about the smell. They didn’t smell like a day in spring when I unpacked them, but I didn’t really notice much of an odor, and any there was dissipated over the next day or two.I love the warm color of the leather. It adds a lot of texture and character to the decor. I followed the seller’s instructions and stuffed them with three moving blankets each, which seemed to do the trick. This is a pet friendly beach vacation rental, so I need furnishings that can stand up to some wear and tear.I could see using these in many different settings, and I think they will look great wherever they are used. Would definitely buy them again.
Shannon Stokes –
These are gorgeous, very durable looking and No smell. Based on others reviews, I was expecting a strong smell, but there was nothing. I love them. And they’re 1/2 the price of trying to buy them anywhere else!
Mom of Kids and Farm AnimalsMom of Kids and Farm Animals –
These are wonderful! They are well made and look great. We got these to match our accent chairs. We even managed to find pillows for our couch that pull everything together. We stuffed them with foam we had and old pillows. We will probably add some more soon to finish filling them out. The smell dissipated within a day or 2. We have kids and a big dog and these are so much easier to clean than a fabric/woven ottoman.
Janma D.Janma D. –
I like the poufs, they seem to be made well and mine didn’t smell bad at all. I just wish they were more similar in color tone. I wasn’t expecting them to be identical, but a such variance between the two is not what I wanted when I purchased them.
Ew –
Absolutely perfect. We stuffed them with clothes we were going to donate!! There’s a weird smell, but I expect it’ll dissipate quickly.I shopped around. These are a fraction of what ONE costs at a high-end chain.I’m thrilled.
julie segner –
While I didn’t realize that when I ordered these that they were not stuffed, the price for a pair should have tipped me off. However, the quality of the leather, the design and look/feel is great and I can’t complain. Once I found some old pillows laying around I stuffed them in there and they look good. Definitely don’t fill with poly fill or anything you’d put in a usual pillow bc it will be way too soft. They recommend old clothing whic would probably be better and I plan to supplement mine with that next. Even though I filled them with random pillows the shape turned out good surprisingly. Over all for the price I really like these.
Janice Richison –
I went to Morocco several years ago and I saw these leather poufs everywhere; however, they were not on my list to purchase. When I returned home I had several people ask me why I did not purchase as many as I could bring back. Long story, short, I went ahead and I ordered 2 from this site. They arrived within the allotted time, and are truly authentic. The craftsmanship is top notch and they are sitting next to my Moroccan rug – which I did bring back with me – we love them!
Jacisen –
I love these! I stuffed them with some old clothes and blankets and they look awesome in my living room. I didn’t notice a smell at all, either. Came quick and were excellent quality.
Paige H.Paige H. –
These are beautiful poufs but I was very disappointed when I noticed a drop of water (condensation from the bottom of a glass that dropped as I was walking by) caused the stain the completely dissipate.
Amazon Customer –
Happy with my purchase overall. The weird smell went away after I left the covers on my patio in the shade for a few days. Sturdy and well made. Love the look they’ve given my living room.

These are great for any room. just fill it up and they are very comfortable to sit. Love the embroidery

I would have thought that A PAIR of pouf ottomans would be matched better than these. One is significantly lighter than the other. Individually they are very nice, but I wanted to put them side by side.
Nina OlsonNina Olson –
Thumbs up for me! I had searched for a couple months for two special poofs for my Bohemian bedroom and kept coming back to these particular Moroccan ones again and again. I love them! They are a lovely caramel tan with cream colored stitching and soft leather. They’re fairly large with a strong zipper at the bottom and quite comfy. In about a half hour I had both filled up with old pillows, towels, rags, etc. Some people complained of tanning process odors. I notice an odor up close, but it doesn’t bother me. People with strong sensitivities, though, might have a problem.

These arrived five days after I ordered them! They really look great, with sturdy zippers and beautiful stitching. They do have a distinctive odor so I’ll let them air out a few days.
Stormy L AhYee –
The only small issue was how unpleasant they smelled at first. But after a couple of days of airing out they are perfect!

An awesome purchase, we got rid of our coffee table all together and this is an awesome way to store winter clothes and blankets etc, nice leather smell, not strong at all! Well made

First off, I have to say: the reviews complaining of the smell are not lying, sheeewww!!!… No big deal if you let them air out for a few days, then they start smelling like the leather I remember as a kid – more earthy less chemical… They look great, feel nice and seem to be stitched really well. We filled ours with old moving blankets.
Mike Boidy –
They are so nice! Really well made. NOTE* THEY SMELL TERRIBLE AT FIRST! Just let them air outside for a day or 2. then stuff them. I had no idea they’d come without stuffing but that was my bad for not reading. You can get stuffing almost anywhere including amazon.
Michelle Dodson –
They’re absolutely beautiful and really well made. Don’t make my mistake and try to use bean bag filler! (That stuff goes EVERYWHERE!). I ended up using the old outdoor seat cushions and some towels. Make sure you stuff them as fully as you can, as they will “settle”.Nowhere in the product description did it mention that one pouf would be bigger than the other. Since they were going in our TV room, I didn’t really care. But had this been a purchase where I wanted symmetry, I would have been greatly disappointed.

The poufs are gorgeous, but I genuinely thought other reviewers were exaggerating with the smell, but no. It’s as bad as you can imagine, but probably worse. Hopefully it dissipates soon enough, as I’ve put them outside for now…Will update.Update: 2 weeks later, the smell has dissipated somewhat, but if I’m close to them, I smell it. it’s not as offensive as before, so I suppose it will eventually go away.I filled them super compactly with about 10lbs of fill each, and although they look like balloons, they’re settling already. So I’m moving my rating from a 3star to a 4. Only because of the smell, it’s not 5.

Pictures can’t do justice. There was no smell upon arriving. The only sad part is I ordered 2 poufs and only received one, but I sent an email to the seller and they responded immediately so hopefully that is a good sign that I’ll get my other one. This pouf is absolutely amazing and exactly what I was picturing. I ordered a 20 pound box of poly-fill and honestly I could’ve ordered a 10 pound and been perfectly fine filling 2, because we have a TON leftover even after the other pouf arrives. These were priced really well and the quality is amazing. Customer service on point! You will not regret ordering from them!

Beautiful made but wasn’t really the color i wanted i would have preferred a more darker shade of brown instead i got a light brown like the on the picture that was advertised! But im still keeping them now cause they might get a little darker over time and i might oil them a little! Other than that awesome poufs good quality and thick sturdy leather!
iamvaliamval –
I wish the pictures for those items were more accurate – the poufs are way lighter with less contrast than the pictures show. The items were shipped from Morocco, and therefore it isn’t easy to send them back – It would have been less misleading if the pictures were showing the right products

I didn’t think I would ever really sit on these, I got them for guests and for the dogs because they like to sit on things on the floor, but I sit on these a lot. They do not come stuffed – you just get the shell. You can buy stuffing for them, but I wanted to go the eco-friendly route and just use stuff in the house that I don’t really use that much or at all. If you have ugly towels and shirts you don’t have the heart to just get rid of, just shove them inside of these. I ended up stuffing mine with old sheets, towels, pillowcases, dish towels, t-shirts, etc.

Soooo, probably should have read the small print; however, it does not come stuffed. Also. Quite a bit lighter tan than the photo— not a perfect match for my decor…disappointing.
Amazon Customer –
Comes unstuffed, be sure to order the stuffing. Other than that, very stylish addition.

What’s up with the smell!? Smells like camel poop (I have no idea what camel poop smells like but it’s what comes to mind… LOL). Smell is really awful, they are sitting outside for the foreseeable future, hope smell will at least reduce. Can’t have them in the house with this smell…
Deborah Davenport –
Even though the picture shows these filled with stuffing, they arrive flat with no filling. Deceiving and more expensive having to buy the stuffing too
JMM –
These appear to be very good quality leather. They look real nice after being stuffed. They should last a long time.

I love everything about these poofs! Totally sturdy, great quality stitching and beautiful color! Product came with a letter explaining that it was made by woman in Morocco who were divorced or otherwise suffering hardships. These are beautiful and affordable!

The leather and construction seems nice and from a distance, as long as they’re not next to each other, they are beautiful.Close up the leather has spots/stains and damage that I would consider more than normal for a distressed finish on a new item (like they aren’t handled carefully in processing or they have been used and returned). They are also shaped differently, one has a pointier shape on top so when they sit next to each other they look kind of weird. It’s definitely the way it was constructed and not the stuffing causing the buldge.
Amazon Customer –
They were exactly what I expected from the description. Slight smell, but barely noticeable. Good quality, heavy zipper. I’m very happy with them.

Beautiful and well made but dear god the smell!! It couldn’t have smelled worse if I had the actual dead cow in my living room. I actually think the pull the leather from cows that died in a field somewhere. They are currently on my back porch airing out. I swear I’m not being dramatic. My dogs actually came and rolled on them like the do when there is a dead bird or toad in the yard.

Love these poufs! I feel even better that I’m helping support those in need of work

Beautifully hand made. Very soft leather. Top and sides are reinforced with a sturdy fabric beneath. These are still a little wrinkled because I just unpacked them, but anticipate they will smooth out. Typically these are filled with sheep’s wool and sometimes straw, or old linens. Absent these, I stuffed them with recycled memory foam – planning to add more as they are not as firm as I wanted. Will likely take 10lbs each of foam fill. (As pictured, they have 5lbs in each now but compress to about half the height when sitting on them).**Another plus – business is locally owned and helping community artisans make a living.

They are great. Not a bad smell at all … I stuffed them with old blankets and clothes… bought two more I like then so much!

Y’all. These are ahhhmazing! A little stinky at first but that’s part of the tanning process. I put them in the corner of the living room for a few days and they were fine. They don’t smell at all now. I purchased two and they are hands down my new favorite things. The colors are rich and they’re getting so soft after a couple of months. I’m only 5’3” and let my husband talk me into rocker/recliners despite the fact I can’t touch the floor with my feet when I sit in mine. These solve the problem. We both have one because his knee locks up if he puts the foot of his recliner up. But yeah, I adore the way it feels beneath my foot. PLUS we recently moved south and I was able to stuff my now unused sweatshirts and coats that I just couldn’t part with inside. LOVE!

I have purchased these previously, as a gift and these poufs are well made, no odor, love the zippered bottom. Plan this time on keeping one and giving one as a gift.

I love the look of them but I totally missed the fact that they do NOT come stuffed. These are the slips only. ‘Was very disappointed. It’s almost impossible to stuff them so that they are not lopsided. Also, the color is off, I ordered dark brown and these are more of a baby poop yellow/gold .I would not buy again.
Rutarei –
I was hoping these had more of a distressed look, but they don’t. They’re fine, but definitely not as pictured.
J. Chen –
These are fun and good oft occasional extra seating. Worried about smell as some reviews mentioned this, no smell.
Joyce Boswell –
They are perfect! Brings out the color in her area rug!

This product looks great, is good quality. However the smell is horrendous. My kids literally thought I stuffed them with poop. We left them in the shed to air out for a week, didn’t help so we put them in a bag with a deodorizer for a week, but the smell is still so strong. It does not smell like leather it smells like a mixture of vomit and poop. My husband did research and I guess in Morocco they tan leather with pigeon feces and that is what these smell like.

Reminds me of my time in Merrakesh. People on here complaining about the smell…. IT’S LEATHER! It’s gonna have a smell.
alohannie* –
I was hesitant to purchase after reading various reviews that mentioned the “strong” or “unpleasant” animal smell. These must have aired out somehow because just a light leather scent. Nice stitching and sturdy zippers. I have quilts and extra blankets stuffed inside. Having two completes the look.
Amazon Customer –
These are great. They work perfectly as foot stools or as an easy seat. They look great and I get lots of compliments on them
Brian S –
I would’ve given 5 stars if one of the poofs didn’t smell like dead fish…and the smell isn’t going away. The first one I stuffed had a distinct leather smell that significantly waned, while the second one continues to absolutely stink!
Sarah –
They need a lot of stuffing but I do love them!
jeannejeanne –
Good quality and beautiful when stuffed!

They have a strange smell at first for sure, but freak! For the price, beauty and quality of workmanship, it’s worth waiting out the smell!!! Ours took about a week to stop smelling weird. The embroidery is beautiful, very well done. And they are REAL leather. We still cannot believe the price. I got both for about $100. I can see these (if stuffed) being about $300-$400 each at a high end design center. They are THAT beautiful. It takes ALOT of stuffing, just FYI. I took old sheets and old throw pillows I felt bad throwing away and all of them fit in. If you take apart old throw pillows, the stuffing can be pulled apart into the right shape to fit into the corners better. Also, the color of the leather has a slight burgundy tint to it. If you are really looking for a more taupe or chocolate brown, this color probably won’t work for you.

I love these!!! Very sturdy and great craftsmanship. I stuffed mine with items from my apartment that I had stashed away, so now I have extra storage space. I have a bad knee so I use this when I’m watching TV and it’s great.

I have had theses for maybe a month and they arlreay look awful. Originally so beautiful you can tell the work the put in but it’s not realistic for use

Beautiful ottomans! Lovely color and went great with my living room style- yes, they did have a leather smell when first opened but it went away after airing them out for a few days. Tip for stuffing: I just used old Amazon shipping bags and anything that came with soft packaging like bubble wrap went right into the ottomans and filled it up quite nicely. Keeps them light and easy to move around the room.

Very nice leather, good quality. Excellent for the price.
