Cooks to tender perfection in two hours. No need to keep checking for doneness. Prepare, cover and put in oven. Two hours later, a melt-in-your-mouth meal!

The pot is beautiful! I am very thankful for the care of how well packed this was!The size of the plate is not very big, it can likely be prepare the main dish for 4 people only. Can’t wait to cook in it!(Mine didn’t come with recipes).Edited: we use the pot for preparing lamb with almonds, prunes and dry apricot. The pack of the lamb was 5.5 lbs. I trimmed quite a lot of the fat so maybe we ended up using 4 lbs. and it served 8 meals.

My first time to order a Tagine after lots of research. Wanted to support women who made this one- I have to say it is SOO Beautiful. This is a large Tagine, which can cook a lot of food. Packaged so well with many layers of bubble wrap (which I was very happy to see), no worries about it breaking. Box was nice and sturdy. I followed directions for easily curating dish before first use. I made beef short ribs with onions, potatoes and squash for my first trial dish- beef very tender, potatoes cooking perfectly and squash had a “perfect bite” without being mushy. My next dish- chicken with preserved lemons and olives- yummo. Very easy clean-up, nothing stuck to the dish. This is a beautiful and very functional cooking dish. I did order and use the heat diffuser without any difficulty. You can get a smaller, plain Tagine on Amazon website, but I would say to order this one – it supports Tunsian women who make/decorate them, and holds a good amount of food, so invite friends over and enjoy great food.

This is a beautiful piece of pottery. I did have issues with the wrong size tangine delivered initially but personal communication with the seller was exceptional. I would buy again.

I had soooo much fun using this for the first time! My chicken turned out so juicy! Flavors stayed in while it cooked! Best cooking tool ever!

Creates flavorable meals! Love this piece of authentic cuisine cooking and if the power goes out you’ll see me on the hillside cooking a meal over a dig fire pit!

I posted a review two years ago, commenting on the thinness of the pottery which is too light weight for stovetop use, even with low heat/diffuser. Ours cracked, but did not fail completely. The company reached out and offered to replace it if we’d take down the negative review. After the review was removed we stopped hearing from them, so I’m reposting as this would now constitute two critical reviews: one for the product and one for customer service. The Tagine is nice looking, and is now simply a pretty kitchen ornament. If traditional Tagine cooking is your goal, search for something heavier.

I made sure to follow all the directions. I soaked for the 36 hours, used a heat displacement, cooked on low, and never placed it on anything except a wooden platter. First hand wash I see a Crack on the bottom tray. I tried to contact the seller for product support but the website has an error. I’d love to get the bottom replaced. The chicken tagine I made in it today was glorious.

We enjoyed cooking with this Tagine, but only a handful of times. We seasoned it according to the manufacturer’s directions, were careful to heat it slowly when cooking, and did not set it on cool surfaces when it was hot. And after about 5 uses it cracked.

Wonderful craftsmanship and the shipping package was excellent.

It makes a very good meal, in no time and the pot is very pretty and easy to clean1

I’ve bought 3 of these over the last 3 years. And I’m a seasoned tagine user. My husband is Moroccan, we know what we are doing. Each one cracks and is unusable after about 5 -6 uses each. And this is AFTER me being extremely careful. Soaking in water, using a diffuser, putting on low heat, no soap washing etc. For the price definitely NOT worth it. I bought a cast iron base and not looking back. Don’t waste your time with this.

I love making tagines (the food) and looked for a tagine (the cooking/serving dish) for a long time. While there are a lot of inexpensive, lightly used tagines of unknown origins available, I was so happy when I found this one – the perfect choice for me.In addition to the used tagine market, you can buy new tagines from high quality manufacturers, but I just couldn’t get excited about buying such a traditional cooking dish from Emile Henri or Le Creuset, both French companies, particularly knowing that the French colonized North Africa. I wanted either a local or North African potter. Here’s why I love this tagine:1) I particularly appreciated that it was made by Tunisian potters, since the tagine is a North African tradition. My understanding is that the vendor is a fair trade company that gives back to the craftsmen, which was important to me. (I couldn’t find any third party verification of its fair trade status and just believed them.)2) It’s gorgeous.3) It’s lead free.I intended to cook in it but found that it was easier and faster to cook the food in my Dutch oven or pressure cooker and then serve in this tagine. This cookware/serving dish is a piece of art that shouts special occasion while paying homage to the culinary roots of tagines. I display it on a shelf in my living room when it’s not in use because it is so beautiful.

I was a bit worried about this getting to me safely but it was packaged very carefully. A booklet with some recipes and care instructions came with it. It has to sit in a vat of water for over 24 hours before use. I personally used a diffuser to cook on. I love the colors and it matches a lot of my other favorites so was very excited to use it. I purchased the larger one and a bit of a heads up, it takes a bit to get to simmering. I have made Tangine before but I love having this to make it in. Nothing like slow cooking in clay. The meat was so tender, the flavors amazing and so worth the wait. I highly recommend it. We had a blast sitting on the floor and attempting to be authentic. Absolutely lovely!!!
Clara E Godard –
The pattern is very nice and it is much larger than expected. It was also well packaged. However, it is extremely thin. I’ve had a lot of tagines over the years and I’ve never felt one that is so thin and light. I knew right away when I felt it, that it wasn’t a true traditional tagine. It makes me really question what materials it is made from because both ceramic and clay have a lot more weight. Even one person tagines usually have weight to them. I’ll probably end up returning. It is so thin that I don’t think it will survive even low temperatures while cooking.Very disappointed, bc it’s so hard to find real ones in the US where I live. I also didnt receive the recipe book or any other inserts the listing said it came with. (Might be my mistake, I’ll have to double check the listing.)

This was very well packaged! In addition to Fragile stores stickers, there were foam peanuts and bubble wrap. The tangine arrived in perfect condition. This was an anniversary gift for my children and they love it. I was a bit worried as they don’t have a lot of room in the kitchen but they didn’t care. They absolutely love it. It is beautiful! I also included the recommended cookbook and now I await a tangine meal.
Melissa J. Standley –
As you would do with any Tagine, be sure to season your pot. Proper care and it will last a long, long time. And do NOT forget to get a diffuser!I am most excited to add this to my cookware.
lori –
I love the design of my tagine. The top is a little oblong but I’m okay with it.
Adobehead –
This fit enough for 6 easily, and would have worked for 8 or even 10. It is easy to use (don’t forget to follow the curing instructions!) and looks beautiful on the table.

This is AMAZING!!!! Came in bubble wrapped like nobodies business. They really made sure that it traveled well. Great craftsmanship. I treated it like my other clay pots and soaked the lid for 30 minutes to help the steam action happen in the oven. It did take it longer to cook my goat than my cast iron Dutch oven but the flavor was really good and the presentation really wowed. Highly recommend!!!!

A few years ago I was introduced to tajine cooking by a google search. I purchased a tajine and used it for awhile but it did not even hold up to medium heat. I recently decided to purchase another and found this BEAUTIFUL hand painted tajine from Kamsah. It makes the best middle eastern stews by far. Personally, I love LOTS of spice with lamb tajines but we have made fish, chicken and vegetarian tajines as well…the more spice the better! Ras al Hanout, saffron, cumin coriander, Lebanese zatar are my favorites. Be the talk of the town/…have a tajine party and wow your friends (-:

Comes with directions for use. This Tagine pot is wonderful for your Moroccan cooking. Cleans easily. So lovely it can be used on display.
Carol Cross –
I don’t really cook, but a friend has been wanting a tajine for some time, and even bought a small one…which arrived cracked, as apparently many of them do. This larger tajine was very well packaged! and is flawless. I chose a design which reminds me of when I visited Morocco, so it appears quite authentic. My friend was delighted with the product

This tajine is beautifully made but I was very disappointed when it started turning black inside and stained. If it didn’t do that, the this would be a great addition to your kitchen.
Brittany Henderson –
I didn’t rate Flavor because it’s a clay pot and has no flavor on its own. But it is remarkably beautiful, hand made and hand painted! I’m looking forward to using it. The label says Medium, but the tagine is larger than I thought. With a side of rice or couscous, this pot will easily feed 4 hungry people, or 3 with leftovers. I’m really glad I didn’t get the larger one.It takes prep time before you are able to cook with it; instructions are included on how to do this.On a side note, Kamsah, gives back a portion of the proceeds to the women artisans to assist them in their businesses. That’s groovy right there.
Polat Alamdar –
A really nice Tajine, I loved cooking moroccan one pot meals, but after 4 times using the tajine, it’s broken, right by cooking a meal. I’m very sad and mad, because of the price about the tajine!
mariam –
Aside from the beauty of this tagine it was packaged so securely I knew the quality was going to be there so nice!
Jeremy Proud –
This is the perfect size for two. Picture doesn’t do it justice. Sturdy.

I got my tagine in the mail about a week ago. It was wrapped very carefully, so there was no breakage, and when I unwrapped it, I was amazed at how beautiful it was. I cooked a Morrocan chicken dish in it last, and it exceeded my expectations. Plus it’s made by women supporting women!
Chris O’Hara –
This is my 2nd tagine purchased from Kamsah. I really like it. I use it on the stove top and it cooks meat tenderly in under 2 hours. It also does depend on your stove settings. Make sure to follow the directions and cure it before use and you have to use a diffuser. I’m very happy with mine. I haven’t tried cooking with it in the oven yet. I always heard people saying the tagine with glaze aren’t for cooking ..but this one does have a glaze and is a cooking tagine..I suppose it depends on the type of glaze used.
harry plourde –
This tagine is just beautiful. Great crafmanship. It is very well made.
Laura Gibbs –
This is well made, works great, and is a work of art. I have read the negative comments but here’s my take. Follow the instructions and let it soak for 24 hrs. Then when cooking use a heat diffuser, don’t put it in the oven, and don’t use electric. When in doubt look at any of the Moroccan cooking shows and you will see what I mean. This is made for traditional slow cooking and it works perfectly for that. You want to speed things up and put this in the oven then you’ll ruin things either the tagine, the meal, or both.Just remember this is Moroccan slow cooking, do as the Moroccans and you will get a delicious meal every time.

OMG this was recommended by a follower on IG, I needed a tajine since my tajine from back home got broken and it is such a hussle getting one from morocco everytime because how fragile they are and cannot take them in my suitcase. But finally got what I needed from kook, the size the design easy to clean I am so happy !!!!!!

We bought this for our son in law. He’s Moroccan. He knew how to cook using this stuff. He’s been living in America now so he missed his tagine a lot. He uses it almost on a daily basis in his country, so he longed to have it here. The problem was that this we bought doesn’t have a good resistance for the changes in temperature. Those they use in Casablanca have this capacity, but the one we bought to him -apparently- required a careful treatment for this issue (hot water/cold water). The important thing is, after knowing this, our son in law talked to his father and he told him how to prepare food with the tagine without damaging it. At last, he had only to take some care in preparing hot meals, nothing more. In fact, he did it (see the photo). Finally, everybody found this apparatus beautiful. I mean it. They loved it.
Raf –
I have not cooked with it yet but I just enjoy looking at it.
Amazon Customer –
I was really stunned by how beautiful a hand made craft object this is. Have not made a tagine in it yet, but look forward to making one in this pot and being able to take it to guests in the same pot. Also, I have never received a fragile item so well packed, wrapped in bubble-wrap and then surrounded by plastic peanuts in the box. I doubt if any buyer ever receives a damaged pot. The instructions say to soak it in cold water for 24 hours before the first use. But they neglect to say how long to soak it for subsequent use. If I don’t use it again for two weeks, do I need to soak it for 24 Hours again, or a lesser time, and what would that be? This would have been good information to include.
Karen Smith –
So impressed with my Tajin
M –
This product is great! We have cooked Tagines in it several times and the food always turns out yummy. I would advise to soak this for 24 hours in water before using so that the tagine does not crack. When soaked in water, the water absorbs into the clay and will help to prevent cracking. Love this product and would buy it again
A. E. Ali –
on a recent trip to morocco, we were served a lot of foods cooked in a tagine. !So I decided to purchase one to see if I could get the same flavors and the food was excellent and only used the tagine to cook the entire meal. Love it
Laura Jane –
This is a beautiful pot! I was amazed at how well it was packaged. It came so quickly, I would not hesitate to irder from this company again!
ginger bread –
While I was delighted to receive this tagine, because it’s so beautiful & was handmade & handpainted by Moroccan artisans, what I didn’t know was that this piece has a massive design flaw that makes it completely unusable. There’s a big hole in the lid, so that instead of all of the steam & flavors collecting on the inside of the conical lid & dripping back onto the food, concentrating the flavor & keeping all of the food moist while it cooks slowly at low heat over several hours, the gaping hole in the lid lets all of the steam, flavor, & moisture out, so that, over the course of several hours, instead of the food delicately steaming & becoming intensely flavorful, which is what’s supposed to happen with a tagine, all the moisture escapes & the food dries out & becomes dull, flavorless, & basically inedible. All of my attempts to fix this glaring & egregious problem failed, even the recommendations from my beloved Larousse Gastronomique, which has _never_ failed me. This pot, while beautiful, is an expensive culinary disaster waiting to happen due to the severe design flaw which prevents it from functioning the way a tagine should function. I suppose it could be used as a serving piece, but it won’t keep the food warm, nor moist, & can’t be used to store it, either, because it will let everything dry out. It is, unfortunately, as useless as it is beautiful. I’d rather have something that functioned perfectly as a tagine but was not nearly as pretty. A pity, as this tagine is so pretty!

Just received mine. Can’t wait to cook with it. I would like to know if I need to season the pot prior to cooking
